Technology Underwriter

Location: London, Birmingham or Manchester

Salary: £75,000

Role Purpose

This is a key role created to support the Technology Practice in line with the company's ambitious growth plans in the UKI and Mid-Market Technology space. The role involves underwriting new and renewal package and monoline business, including UKI and Multinational Property, Casualty, Global Terrorism, Cyber, and Technology Errors and Omissions cover (PI).

You will support the team in delivering a high-quality service to brokers and clients while developing technical and broader business skills in this specialist industry practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist and lead in the underwriting and processing of new and renewable package business in line with underwriting appetite, authority limits, and business plan.
• Ensure efficient working practices are in place and adhered to as per established package underwriting guidelines.
• Support the underwriting team through liaison with and participation at meetings with brokers, clients, internal departments, and external advisers.
• Work within the framework of the company Code of Conduct, Compliance policies, Peer Review, and established company protocols.
• Engage in project-based work in line with Product Development and promoting Industry Practices.

Experience Required

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the insurance market, with an understanding of Technology-specific exposures, terminology, and the evolving segment.
• Ability to apply a practical and common-sense approach to different situations with problem-solving skills under tight timeframes.
• Interest in Multinational programs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Willingness to undertake “on the job” training, which may involve working in other offices.
• Motivation to embark on or complete the ACII qualification and work towards becoming a Senior Technology Underwriter.
• Experience with online platforms for product delivery to the broker market is advantageous.
• Proven experience in developing broker relationships.
