Advice from our Director, Kirsten Quarman
Seek the right qualifications
What qualifications are useful for your career progression? For example, the CII qualification is a desirable qualification that employers may look for, offering various study units depending to your insurance specialism. Many companies will provide support for your studies so make sure you seek them out proactively.
Expand your network
As the Insurance market grows, it's important to establish yourself in the insurance community. Attending networking events offers opportunities for knowledge expansion and building great connections with other Insurance professionals, giving you the platform to gain valuable insights into the current market. Networking is essential to succeed in a Broking related role.
Technology experience will give you the edge
Technology is transforming the insurance market, with an increase of insurance software (CRMs), automation, programmes and data analytics. Consequently, this has shaped traditional job roles to be more digitalised. As technical skills rise in demand, research and plan what technical skills might be beneficial for you to learn moving forward to allow you to stand out to future employers.
