Job Description
As a UK Management Liability Underwriter, you will work closely with the Team Leader and other members of the team to service and grow a profitable UK portfolio. You will be responsible for the day-to-day underwriting of Management Liability accounts, including relationship management, broker development and occasional work travel.
Expert underwriting and excellent customer service are at the centre of everything we do. A key part of the role involves regular interaction with brokers, both in meetings and over the phone.
In addition to underwriting and business development, you will have exposure to teams across the company, including actuarial, claims and product development.
Key Responsibilities
- Underwrite Management Liability accounts in line with company guidelines.
- Develop and maintain strong broker relationships.
- Identify and pursue profitable new business opportunities.
- Provide expert underwriting advice and support to brokers.
- Work collaboratively with actuarial, claims, and product development teams.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity.
- Coach and support junior members of the team.
Requirements
- Previous experience in broking or underwriting within Directors & Officers (D&O) / Management Liability (ML).
- Strong understanding of ML products and the UK broker market.
- Proven track record of developing and maintaining broker relationships.
- Highly analytical with strong technical underwriting skills.
- Self-motivated, driven, and able to work independently.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- Keen interest in market trends and emerging risks.
