We are seeking an experienced and driven Housing Systems Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of IT change initiatives within the housing sector. This role offers a daily rate of £400. It is a 12-month contract, operating four days per week, with the engagement falling outside IR35. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end implementation of housing IT systems, coordinating with internal stakeholders, system suppliers and functional leads to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing large-scale system upgrades, replacements or implementations across housing management systems such as Northgate, Civica, Aareon or Orchard. You must possess excellent project management skills, preferably supported by relevant certifications such as PRINCE2 or Agile. Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities are essential, as you will be working closely with colleagues across both IT and operational teams, ensuring requirements are captured effectively and translated into system capabilities.
You should have in-depth knowledge of the housing sector and an understanding of housing business processes, including tenancy management, repairs, voids, rent accounting and customer services. Experience of data migration, integration with other corporate systems, and managing testing and training phases is essential. Familiarity with compliance requirements and the ability to manage suppliers to contract terms will be key in this role.
The role requires someone who is self-motivated, methodical, and capable of handling multiple workstreams. You must be able to produce project documentation including project plans, risk logs, lessons learned, business cases and status reports. Alongside system implementation, you may also be involved in process reengineering initiatives and business analysis, contributing to the wider IT strategy.
This is an excellent opportunity for a project manager looking to make a meaningful impact within the housing IT industry. With a flexible working pattern and engaging, high-level projects, this role is ideal for professionals looking to apply their expertise in a rewarding, contract-based setting.
