Housing Systems Data Migration Specialist

Job Details

Contract: Up to 18-month Fixed-Term Contract

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000

Location: Remote (Occasional travel, approximately once a month, expenses covered)

Sector: Social Housing

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Housing Systems Data Migration Specialist to join a Social Housing provider at the very start of a major housing management systems replacement project. The current housing management system is end-of-life, and the procurement team has already selected a new system, meaning that the project direction is clear ahead of this person's start.

This role will be crucial in leading the organisation through a critical stage of the project, ensuring a smooth and efficient data migration process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all data migration activities within the housing systems replacement project.
  • Ensure the successful extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from the legacy system to the new platform.
  • Collaborate closely with the project team, including the Systems Specialist, Implementation Project Manager, Business Analyst, and Housing Lead.
  • Work with stakeholders across the organisation to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
  • Optimise SQL queries and scripts to facilitate efficient data migration.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Housing Management System (HMS) experience – with any major providers such as Civica CX, Capita Open/OneHousing, NEC, MIS ActiveH, Aareon QL, or similar.
  • Proven experience in data migration, particularly leading data migration activities.
  • Strong SQL knowledge and ability to write complex queries.

Desirable Skills

  • API experience.

Project & Team

This position will work closely with a recently appointed Systems Specialist who has in-depth knowledge of the new housing management solution being implemented. The wider team consists of an Implementation Project Manager, Business Analyst, and Housing Lead.

The project has significant stakeholder buy-in and a substantial budget allocated, marking it as the organisation’s largest systems change in recent years.

Interview Process

Initial interviews will take place remotely via MS Teams and can be scheduled as soon as the week commencing 17th February.
