Gravitas is currently supporting a UK based Transport company in their search for a Head of Infrastructure.
Reporting to the CTO, the successful candidate will be leading 3 core infrastructure teams: Systems, Networking and DevOps. You will ensure strong performance, security and availability for these services, whilst championing innovation and controlling costs.
Leading the strategic and operational delivery of all IT Infrastructure including networking, data centres, cloud services, DevOps tools and core systems support.
Role – Head of Infrastructure.
Salary - £85,000
Location – Hybrid Role – Greater Manchester

Essential Skills:
- Strong proven working experience within infrastructure management roles.
- Excellent understanding of hybrid infrastructure – cloud (azure/aws), data centres, networking and server platforms.
- Knowledge of DevOps Practices – CI/CD Pipelines, Terraform, Git, Kubernetes and modern system management.
- Working experience of networking technologies – LAN, WAN, VPN’s, firewalls.
- Experience with vendor management and stakeholder management – previous exposure to contract negotiations.
- Have managed multi-disciplinary technical teams.
Desirable Skills:
- Worked within transport or logistics.
- ITIL process and framework experience.
- Experience in migrating legacy infrastructure to cloud.
The key responsibilities for this position include the leadership and strategy of the IT infrastructure, ensuring it’s aligned to the roadmap and business objectives. As well as technical delivery, governance, security and stakeholder engagement, working closely with the CTO you will collaborate with other head of to support the ongoing digital transformation.
