Senior Software Engineer

Status: Inside IR35

Contract: 6 months

Working Arrangement: Hybrid with at least one day a week onsite (Wednesday/Thursday)

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software using JavaScript, React, CSS, and Node.js.
• Ensure compliance with accessibility standards (a11y).
• Optimise browser performance and improve code efficiency.
• Work effectively in fast-changing environments with context switching.
• Implement automated testing and follow Test-Driven Development (TDD) principles.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to technical discussions.
• Write and take responsibility for technical documentation.
• Mentor and coach junior developers (desired).
• Work with video and multimedia technologies (desired).

Essential Skills

• Strong expertise in JavaScript, React, CSS, and Node.js.
• Understanding of accessibility standards (a11y).
• Experience optimising code for browser performance.
• Ability to work efficiently in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
• Experience with automated testing and TDD methodologies.
• Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Strong willingness to learn and adapt.

Experience

• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer, ideally in media-related projects.
• Good knowledge of software development frameworks and methodologies.
• Experience mentoring and coaching other developers.
• Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to business scenarios.
• Familiarity with software development tools and technologies.
• Flexible and adaptable approach to problem-solving.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
