Solutions Developer | SITS Developer | up to £56k | Remote

We are thrilled to be partnering with a client who is in the market for a Solutions Developer to join their dynamic development team. As a key member of the IT department, you will collaborate with business owners and technical teams to design and implement solutions that align with the university's architectural principles. The role involves managing new projects and making enhancements to existing business systems, overseeing them from conception through to delivery and handover to the operational team.

Location: Remote - onsite presence every 6 weeks (Kent)

Salary: £45,163 - £55,295

What we need to see as essential:

  • Proven experience in SITS Development and e:Vision Development.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL/Oracle databases.
  • Expertise in one or more modules of the Student Lifecycle (Admissions, Progressions, Finance, etc.).
  • Excellent stakeholder management and requirements gathering skills.

The role:

The Solutions Developer will be a proactive and skilled individual responsible for collaborating with business owners and technical teams to create and implement solutions that align with the university's architectural principles. This role involves managing new projects or modifying existing business systems, overseeing them throughout their lifecycle from initiation to delivery and handover to the operational team.

Primarily focusing on developing SITS solutions, the developer will need expertise in writing and optimizing SITS, with the opportunity to explore other technologies as part of the solution design. The ideal candidate will be confident, solution-oriented, and able to deliver high-quality code, leveraging rapid prototyping to maximize solution benefits.

You will be joining a team of 6 SITS Developers, 2 Testers, and working closely with the Registry function. The development team fits with in the wider IT Team, consisting of DBA's, a Solution Architect, and Support Officers. You will be reporting to the Lead Developer.

Key projects will include:

As part of the university's 2030 vision they have a mix of projects work and continuous improvement work in the pipeline that are not limited to the following:

  • Reimplementing SITS academic model, rather than following the rigid structured standard academic year; there are long and short courses with varying start and end dates being offered.
  • Enhancement work for registration
  • Student finance build and enhancement work
  • Ad hoc business change and process change requests

Desirable skills:

  • Experience in Azure Services.
  • Experience developing in JavaScript or Java with strong background in software development.
  • Experience in SITS upgrades, and major projects.
