Data Migration Developer | Remote | up to £48,000 | Azure data
We're partnering with a university on exclusive basis to support them through the recruitment of a Migration Developer to work on an migration project of student data from one system to another, in a Azure environment . This is a great opportunity for someone to work on project environment and shape/ enhance the existing processes and improve student experience.
Summary of the role:
Role: Migration Developer
Employment Type: 2 year FTC
Location: Remote, with onsite presence every 6 weeks for team days
Salary: £41,317 - £48,481.29 - can appoint anywhere on the band

Essential skills:
- Strong knowledge of databases, SQL
- Experience in migrating IT systems in Azure environment and built a data migration strategy
- Strong experience in creation of migration processes and methodologies that involve ETL Phases
- Understanding of the importance with data quality
- Strong stakeholder management skills
The role:
Reporting to the SRS Transformation Project Manager, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in an exciting implementation project to replace the existing student management system to a new one. The role will sit under the IT directorate within SOAS within the SRS project team who are responsible for the completion of the programme. The post holder will also have the opportunity to work on the data quality and cleanse phases of that move.
This is a critical role and will give the successful candidate to be lead on in putting together robust data identification, mapping and migration strategy. The overarching strategy is to improve student and staff experience and the project will have the following phases:
- Implementation of the new system and the build of its core processes, data, and automation
- Data Cleanse and Migration of Data from existing systems to the new system
- Integration with an extensive portfolio of existing SOAS student applications
- Provision of new reports, student communications, and staff / student online portals
- Business Change and Transformation associated with new processes and student journeys
